— As reported earlier in the week, WWE’s Renee Young is in Saudi Arabia and will a part of Friday’s Crown Jewel event – the first woman in the company to head over there to work. She is going to be assuming her regular role on the announce team though it’s unclear if she – and the others – will be seated at ringside or situated somewhere else in the area. For what it’s worth, Young was given “special travel arrangements and accommodations” and will actually not be travelling with the rest of the roster while there.
— PWInsider reports that Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton are also in Saudi Arabia as part of the broadcast team. With Young in a commentating role, it may relegate Saxton to handle backstage interviews. Greg Hamilton has been called upon to do the ring announcing and Michael Hayes and Adam Pearce have been brought over to produce the show. Meanwhile, John Gaburick has been in Saudi Arabia for the past month working on the overall planning for the event.
